RoboManipal is the official robotics team of MIT, Manipal. Its 30+ odd members are an amalgamation of robotics enthusiasts from multiple streams of engineering. Conceived 8 years ago, RoboManipal has been a home to some of the best and most innovative minds of MIT. The team has represented and won laurels for the college at various technical fests, innovation challenges and robotics competitions at the national level. Our primary objective is to participate in and win the ABU Robocon, the largest robotics competition in the Asia-Pacific region. Having pulled off continually successful performances including obtaining an AIR of 9, RoboManipal has established itself as a name of repute at the Robocon. Besides this our members have won multiple innovation challenges such as the Make-a-Thon by INK Talks, Teenovators and the Provenance competition.
The coding subsystem is responsible for defining a systematic connection between the hardware and the tasks that need to be performed. They work on design of reliable control systems and the semi/complete automation of processes.
Mechanical subsystem deals with the designing and manufacturing of the robot considering the efficiency of the robot. Different CAD designs for different mechanisms are made and tests including real-time testing, simulation and analysis is done
The Management team is responsible for the smooth functioning of the other subsystems, public relations and human resource department of RoboManipal. The subsystem is also responsible for the finances and sponsorship, publicity and graphics.
The electronics team deals with things ranging from rapid PCB prototyping to interfacing a wide range of sensors to DAQ. Research is carried out to design, simulate and test circuits to eliminate off-the-shelf electronics and make the bot accurate.
